Optimal brings automation innovation to ISPE Barcelona 2017

Optimal Industrial Automation will be showcasing its complete range of automation solutions at the ISPE Conference in Barcelona in April. With the theme of this year’s exhibition being ‘Pharmaceutical Manufacturing in 2025’ and the accelerating adoption of the company’s innovative synTQ process analytical technology (PAT) software by SMEs and global pharma majors going on right now, the timing couldn’t be more prescient.

Taking place from 3rd – 5th April at the Fira Center in Crowne Plaza Barcelona, Optimal engineers will be available at Table No.2 to discuss synTQ software as well as general automation and system integration requirements.

One of the key subjects of discussion at ISPE Barcelona will be how pharmaceutical product design is suited to automated manufacture; with synTQ one of the landmark products spurring the industry towards connecting lab development to continuous production, it is again highly relevant.

synTQ collects and processes data concerning product attributes and real-time process parameters and runs multivariate functions, with pre and post processing where appropriate. Information is then analysed and enacted upon via closed loop control in real-time, which allows the system to control product quality attributes during production.

The result is the manufacture of a product of increased quality which is wholly compliant to regulatory standards, removing the need to subsequently test batches of product post production. This enables continuous processing and the real-time release of pharmaceutical products, which in practice slashes the time to market.

Furthermore, Optimal will also be displaying its wide ranging automation expertise, with the UK-based business celebrating 30 years of success in automation this year. The company has gathered tremendous expertise in system integration, industrial databases, SCADA, networking and PLCs.

In addition, experts will be on stand to impart knowledge on Optimal’s vision package synTI, a modular vision software framework that allows serialisation including easy inspection and verification operations when utilised with cameras, scanners or sensors. The exhibition is managed by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, a non-profit organisation that aims to lead scientific, technical and regulatory development throughout pharmaceutical manufacturing. ISPE Barcelona will gather experts in their field, promoting discussion on everything from managing drug shortages to evolving automation platforms and regulations.

Martin Gadsby, Director at Optimal said: “We are excited to be at ISPE Barcelona this year as many of the topics are very relevant to synTQ. While pharmaceutical products have been notoriously difficult to produce and verify continuously, we have developed a proven regulatory compliant system that can produce these compounds to the highest quality standards, which is undoubtedly the future of the sector. Speed of manufacture and supply could also help to alleviate drug shortages, so we can benefit both the market and patient simultaneously. We look forward to meeting everyone at the show to discuss the benefits we can provide.”
